Irrigation & Landscaping

In fall 2009, the Friends of Ringgold Park, working in partnership with Boston Department of Parks & Recreation, installed a comprehensive irrigation system throughout the park. This new system allowed us to landscape the vacant planting beds with lush new shrubs. The entire project was funded by the city through two Small Changes grants as well as smaller private donations. These additions will be maintained in the future with private funds as well. The next phase of the project is to install low cast iron hoop fencing to protect the new plantings. We are actively raising money towards these fences which will protect the new shrubs and prolong their lives. We invite you to celebrate the new landscaping by staying on the park paths while the new shrubs have time to get established.
